Default Stimulus Package... Round 2?

I read this today, I am not sure if this would be a good thing or a bad thing (if it actually happens)... I guess time will tell.

I think another stimulus package would be a pointless waste of money.
People aren't going to benefit from it in the long term. If the Govt. would plough that money into public transport, with the gas prices the way they are right now, everyone would have good incentive to give up their cars and use public transport, and then they would have money to spend, therefore the economy wouldn't need stimulating.
It is the gas prices that are crippling everyone (not just that they put in their own car, but the extra cost of goods because of it).
Maybe then, the cost of gas would go down too, because no one would be using as much.
I'm talking about electric trains, not diesel, maybe hybrid buses
Yeah it would cost a lot, but look at what the stimulus packages have cost, and they're doing no good!

It had better be f*&$ing good... it was my first ride on the public transport here that scared me into getting my license and I have riden the bus since!

IMO, an Obama Government would increase "handouts" way beyond current levels. Whilst, they may have different names, economically they are all the same thing.
