Staying More than 90 Days
I haven't been able to find the answer to this in the forum or on the DHS web site. I want my Mum to come out here for more than 90 days. She's going through a divorce and needs some help. I can't sponsor her because I am a resident, not a citizen. The Visa Waiver program is only for 90 days. Is there any other way of staying longer as a visitor? Can she leave after 90 days and then come back a few weeks later, or will immigration flag her? Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Also, by leaving the UK for periods at a time, isn't this going to cause problems in dealing the paperwork, legal appointments and that kind of thing?

B2 visa...tough to get, but if she's a retired person, should be easier, just needs to prove ties to the UK...and medical insurance will be expensive...

Having said that, she could stay and wait for Amnesty that comes around about every 10 years (cynical me). Or just never leave.
The big problem is Health Insurance for more than 60 days. It'll kill ya. We just paid 380 quid to help the aged for his 6 week trip to USA !!!

Errr....over staying voids any right to use the VWP again, an overstay that's longer than 180 days is a 3 year ban, and longer overstay is a 10 year ban.
Coming back a couple times a year isn't a problem, but back to back visits on maximum VWP stay will eventually draw attention, and the general rule of thumb is not to come back within the length of the last maximum stay allowed.
