Statesboro GA?
 

Anyone live near there, have any opinions on this neck of the woods?

I lived in Athens for 4 years, and travelled down that way several times, but never went to Statesboro. I notice it's a whole 200 miles from Atlanta, and the population isn't huge, but wondered is it really out there in the wildies? Any local airport connect to Atlanta?

Just weighing up some job opportunities at the moment, so I'm talking about what it's like to live, not to visit.

Any opinions gratefully received!

I don't live there, but my wife has family from round there, what do you want to know?

As for Statesboro... well it's not too far from Savannah, so maybe Cindy knows something about it.

It's been YEARS since I have been to Statesboro (and I only visited, never lived there) but I wouldn't say it's a very metropolitan place. Less culturally diverse than Athens (or Macon, and especially Atlanta.)

There may be a small airport in Statesboro, but I would imagine for any commerical flight, you'd be driving the hour to Savannah's airport.

It's definitely worth a trip to scope it out and it wouldn't take that long to drive from Athens. I used to do it (many years ago) when I was a student at UGA and visited friends at GA Southern.
