Default State Energy Audit/Efficiency Programs?

http://www.masssave.com/

The MA one is pretty good. Friend just had his gaff evaluated for free and is getting $1.5K worth of work done free on the state and then another $2.2K worth of work done by NStar as part of a Federal program, he only had to pay the first $500 for that.

It included custom built ceiling thing for the attic, insulation in the roof and walls and some other stuff.

Think the program is in other states, so worth a look at, especially if you're in a cold state and especially if you're got oil heat.

That has some more programs to help folks in MA reducing the winter heating costs

It's a nifty little program. Friend was saying that he was going to get it done over the summer but had other projects he wanted to get done while on maternity leave and so finally got around to getting this done and there's something like a 2-3 week wait for the work to be done once they've done the evaluation, as it seems a lot of people are suddenly doing it while switching the heat on and didn't think to while it was hot in the summer.

Definitely a great move to switch over to gas from oil if you get the chance. Our gas bill last year in this place was miles cheaper than the electric from the place before and much, much cheaper again than the oil of the place previous to that one.
