Well in the past year and a half I've seen Eddie Izzard, George Carlin, Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld do live stand up.
All were excellent except Carlin who just seemed jaded and very much like he was going through the motions...maybe we caught him on a bad night but I almost fell asleep during his routine.
I much prefer Jerry Seinfeld's stand up to his sitcom.
Billy Connolly is probably my favourite of all time though so I voted for him.

I saw Ben Elton and Billy Connelly at the Hammersmith Odeon (I don't think it's called that anymore). Ben Elton was funny and most of the material was from The Man From Auntie. Billy was excellent. His impression of a drunk guy walking home at night was fantastic.

his joke about the 22 hour non-stop flight to NZ was hilarious.
