Speeding in the Yukon
If I have a Washington state driver's license and get a speeding ticket in the Yukon with it show up on my permanent driving record? Or will my insurance have any way of finding out?

Why ask? Why not just avoid speeding?

For an authoritative answer, you need to ask someone in authority such
as the folks at the local DMV. Try to check to see if this info
is on the Washington State DMV's web site.

Most, but not all of the Canadian provinces/territories and the U.S. states
have reciprocal agreements allowing them to exchange that kind of
information. IF you state has a reciprocal agreement with Yukon Territory,
then it will eventually show on your Washington driving abstract and if
Washington law allows insurance companies access to those records, yes,
eventually they will find out. However, not all insurance companies do
annual searches. Some do spot checks. Some do searches every so many years.
Not a question to ask them as that would probably tip them off. I'd wait,
say 6 months and pull a copy of your abstract.

Oh, yeah, another goody two shoes. In the Yukon, you can drive for HOURS and
not see another vehicle. It has an area larger than Oregon and a population
of about 50,000 MAX.

Define "speeding." From what I remember of the Yukon, only a fool goes
much over 45 mph.

The local DMV will say pay the ticket. What do you think they'll say?
Don't worry about it?

Sounds like reckless operation, not just speeding, if the only vehicle
you see in HOURS is one that gives you a speeding ticket.

So pay it.
But that doesn't solve the problem of the EFFECT of the ticket on
Stateside driving record, which was what the original message questioned.

Than you have Alzheimer's. When WE were there there were many miles of PAVED
highways quite capable of being driven at 70 plus mph, but, we were on
vacation and in no particular hurry. BTW, radar detectors are illegal in the
Yukon Territory.
