Southern California Harbors

My lease is up next month and I've decided to make the move from inland to the coast. I'd love to live by a harbor. The harbors within drivable distance to work would be Ventura, Oxnard or Marina del Rey. Oxnard seems the most reasonable rent wise. Anyone have any experience of these areas?

My daughter lived in Marina Del Rey for 3 years and loved it.
