Social Security office can now verify your A# in their system real quick--My experience
 

I received my stamp after my AOS 2weeks ago, adjusted from F-1visa, so
went to get a new corrected Social Security Card. I got the form from
their website, took my passport and old card and went there, he was
able to verify my A# on the database!! Like he looked it up, I was so
surprised! Took a few mins, made me go over everything, and got
receipt, and card will be mailed to me within 2 weeks!
BTW, I got my Welcome to America letter a few days ago, so I'm guessin
my card should be here in the next week or so.
