Do any of you take part in leagues or just kickabouts in the States? I'd love to get into something but don't have a clue where to start.

Hubby plays with work team. Otherwise, have seen teams advertising in soccer sports shops round here if that helps.

Out your way, get in touch with the colleges, U of M, it's big and played in most campuses, think there's one in Augusta, also that B one, Bowdon?

No pick up games at the park though.

There are leagues that play too though, I know in New Hampshire as I saw Oxford United play there in the pre-season.

I know a lot of the expats Europeans and Mexicans get together in the Portland area, not sure about Augusta though.

Bit of a hike. I know quite a few mexicans get together in the coastal area where the blueberries grow, but not much in way of fields for footie.

Loads of Brits and the like in the Camden/Rockland/Belfast area and I think a bunch played 5-side somewhere out there and that's a short hop from Augusta. Used to be a bunch of folks that played in the MBNA grounds in Rockland at the gym there, which allowed guests....but they flogged that mountain site off just before BoA bought them out.

Thanks for your input everyone. It seems like its a bit out of season at the moment so hopefully I'll hear more about it when the MLS season gets closer.
