So what did your State vote on?
Just curious.
In Mass, just three things.
To keep personal state income tax, which was kept
To decriminalise weed, which was a yes
To ban greyhound racing, which won...stupid that one...

Aside from the political races, North Carolina did not have any additional statewide non-political issues to vote on. However, in Durham County we voted on whether to pass a 1% addition to the county food tax that would be used to finance cultural and arts institutions.
The proposed additional tax wasn't voted in. At least 70% of voters were against this tax.
Here's an article about the proposed tax and its use:

In Michigan-
Medical Marijuana- Passed
Embryonic Stem Cell Research- Passed
I have to say I'm gobsmacked that they passed given the high concentration of Dutch-reformed/CRC types in my area.

Ohio.
1. Increase the time needed before the election that an issue can get on the ballot - passed
2. Clean Ohio - passed
3. Water ownership rights for home/land owners. A recent change made people think that water on their property (eg well) would now be publicly owned - passed
5. Payday loans restrictions and monitoring - passed
6. Constitutional amendment for a casino. Bullshit issue in my opinion designed to make one guy a ton of money - failed

There was nothing extra on my ballot. I would have liked to cast a vote on some 'contentious' issues.

Maine
1. Veto tax on drinks and insurance - Yes, repealed (taking more of my money for healthcare, I thought I had already paid that tax)
2. Oxford Casino - No (the churches will be happy, no competition for money)
3. Water and Wastewater bond - Yes (Yay, we can get clean water now)

Well I'm glad we kept the tax because property taxes are already high, and no income tax would only increase that to make getting a home a no goer for even more people, and it'll affect schools etc which are already shit enough in some places without losing more cash.

I don't understand this country sometimes mate. They say this is the land of free, that is unless you want a drink or to place a bet.
