Snowing on the east coast and in the UK
On the east coast (DC metro area):

Re: Snowing on the east coast and in the UK
He he - I saw those last three photos on the http://www.skynews.co.uk website.....loved the one of the postie on his rounds wearing shorts....must be from Newcastle I should imagine!
It's been snowing here in NJ since 3pm and still no sign of a snowplough in our street which is quite unusual...but the schools are on hols this week so with no school buses I guess the council is in no hurry to clear the roads. My husband and son are in Aspen, CO on their ski/snowboarding holiday and they're complaining that they've had no fresh snow there LOL! Fox news is showing the inevitable reports of 'fender-benders' but it's good to hear that the snow is fine and powdery... :) This past Monday morning it took me 1.5 hours to shovel our driveway (approx four car lengths) and footpath as the snow was so wet and heavy. I hope it will be a faster process tomorrow morning.... |

I certainly didn't take the shots! I should take some DC snow photos and post them on here, but "my" digital camera is still chock-a block with Vegas and Hoover Dam photos. Maybe I should post those on here too. Funny thing happened this morning, I was rummaging in a closet and a "dam" cap fell on the floor ... it was literally a "dam cap" ... said so, and had a picture of the Hoover Dam on it. :) Cool or what.

Re: Snowing on the east coast and in the UK
We had about 4 inches here in N MA. I don't think the side road at the bottom of our drive has been ploughed yet. The plough guy that does our drive (200 yards long) has not been either. The main road that runs through our town is always well ploughed, the side roads are always done well when they get round to doing them. It's just some of the towns on my route out to the highway do not plough their roads very well at all. On Monday morning I think they were relying on the cars to do it, because the schools were off. Even the highway was bad.

My girls are happy, 2 snow days! Going sledding today, only trouble is there are not too many hills in southern Maryland :( :)

The registration plate is clearly British. Thus, according to British Expats USA Forum Geography Policy, the picture was taken 'near London'.
BTW, currently snowing here in NM too. |

Grateful for having clear roads and all but the racket kept us awake.
