When i come home from work I reak so bad (plus the smoke).........and thats just a 5 hour cruise

Ever paid a visit to the Sahara Hotel in Vegas? The level of smoke in the air around the slot machines was, for me, off the scale. Walked in, coughed my way out. Had to stand outside for a good 2 hours to get rid of the smoke clinging to my socks. *LOL*

The smoking room at LAX is a total experience, surprised they had one to start with. You have to stay close to the floor to find the ashtray and that's with a torch.........

*nods* ... I was also surprised when I flew into/out of Frankfurt airport that there were so many smoking areas in public view - I mean one had to walk through some of them to get to where you wanted to go. There's me thinking how efficient Germany is n 'all. One sort of expects it with the French who seem to be very into smoking - even on the non-smoking tourist boats that go up and down the pretty bits of the Rhine. I had to go "atop" to get away from the smoke. The Japanese were very polite, didn't light up until after the French group filled the restaurant with French "atmosphere".

I was once booked into a smoking room in a very nice hotel in Boston. I asked for a non-smoking room, but tried to put up with it, but the gut wrenching deep smell of smoke just got to me, I demanded a smoke free room, then got a lecture of how much I would be "fined" if I in fact smoked in the non-smoking room. I said I did not smoke at all, but I guess by now they could smell smoke on me - well, I had just rested for an hour or so on a bed that smelt of smoke. The room stank with it. It was disgusting. I hate smoking. Horrible nasty habit that belongs to the dinosaur age, imho! ;)

I love British Airports for the little air conditioned booths they have, where we social pariahs can look out on the normal people through a plexiglass screen :D

Last weekend we took my visiting parents to the Franklin D. Roosevelt house/museum in Hyde Park NY. We were amused to note that FDR's wheelchairs were fitted with ashtrays and the specially modified car he used to drive around his estate had an attachment on the dashboard which dispensed ready-lit cigarettes.

Very understandable comment. Just seeing those morons sucking on those disgusting filthy cancer sticks is bad for one.

Your post suddenly reminded me of that classic BBC Red Dwarf "Tikka to Ride", in which Lister takes out Kryten's guilt chip, and Kryten takes up smoking ... Lister or the Cat: "You're smoking?" Kryten: "Really, where?" Or something like that.
