Default Small appliances from UK

Hi guys haven't been on here in a really long time, but we have just gotten our house sorted. The new owners will take possession on 30th of March!!! A long time coming. Hubby has had his green card for a year already. This question might sound dumb, but will small appliances eg slow cooker, karaoke machine, kettle work on USA electricity. I know my hair dryer straightener and all will work. Just would like to know what to bring or chunk out Sure will miss the English pint lol

Chuck the lot, they're all worthless here, they won't work. Spend the money you'd use on shipping the stuff over on new things when you get here.
You can buy kettles, slow cookers, hairdryers etc all in the $20 - $30 range each.

Agreed - there are a few threads on this topic recently. Some will work, others need voltage converters which are cheap enough - but as ladyofthelake says the things you mention are cheap over here so its not worth the hassle!!!

Only consider bringing expensive high end gear out would be my advice!

Toss it all. Not worth it. Except the English pint glass - that item does not require electricity to function correctly.

no point - many are not allowed to sell electrical goods because of safety and liability issues!

Actually, some modern hairdryers and a good chunk of straighteners in the UK and USA are duel voltage so they should be OK, but you'll need an adapter or a new plug. Anything else that in the instructions or on the item that says dual voltage or something like "input 100-240v" should work but if you can't carry it in your bag on the plane there's no point in brining it unless a replacement would cost more than shipping.

Did you find a vehicle exporter to help with exporting the mini's?

check the label on everything, if they are dual voltage, which a lot might be, then only need a plug convertor, if they ain't, then chuck 'em, have a garage sale, as they won't be worth the cost of getting voltage convertors unless it is quality goods like a sound system.
