Sky Tv

Hi All

I was just wondering if you are able to obtain Sky Tv in USA? I know that Dish Network cannot help, but I have seen a few big dishes with rotators in peoples gardens - Im particularly interested in "At The Races", a free to air channel available on Sky satellite.

Thanks alll - have a great day :)

You'd need a really big 'kin dish and run the risk of p!ssing of your HOA.

HOA = Home Owners Association - Many of the new developments have these in which they dictate rules for the sub division ( think "estate" in England). For Example, some will set rules stating that you cannot leave your garage door open, must only take trash to the street on the day of pickup, etc. Im sure they have some on the sizes of satelite dishes.

You would also need a really big mirror in the sky to see the satelite on the other side of the globe........ :D

Sportinglife.com for live audio commentaries.
If you work out a way to get pictures let me know, though of course I'm sure you're aware that internet gambling is strictly speaking illegal in most states.

Yeah -- google about and you'll see the footprint of the satellites that Sky and other broadcasters use. You'd be in more luck in Africa.

Perhaps someday they'll bounce the European channels a few satellites to the west and we'll be able to get them all.

Thanks Dan - Were in the middle of the cornfield that is Iowa in a 25 acre plot, so i hope that HOA's dont figure too much lol - The nearest neighbours house is nearly 1 mile away lol.

I know that internet gambling is strictly illegal and i wouldnt dream of placing a bet with my british bookmaker, which is funded from my british bank account and this british bank account also receives the winnings

Well you should be safe from HOA :D unless you break one of your own rules, in which case you would have to fine yourself.

If you want to watch football, Fox Soccer Channel carries many of the Premiership channels. They also carry sky sports news. I don't know how much horse racing they show on it though.

LOL whenever im talking to any Americans on the plane, they always ask where ive been - yet look pleasantly confused when I tell them! lol I think its kinda like "Gods waiting room" - im not saying its a hick kinda place, but i was wearing my denim shirt and jeans and one of my friends asked me why i was wearing a suit? LOL

Betfair is waaaaay too open to abuse im afraid - there are too many with "inside info" who make a killing on there.

One example that has happened is a Trainer who "knew" his horse was not going to win (intentionally) he goes on Betfair and offers better odds than everyone else - KNOWING he could not lose, all the punters go to him and he makes a killing.

Its more of a hobby from me - I just like to see the races.

www.attheraces.com offer online video streaming, but not to USA for some reason, so i would need to hide my IP address i suppose - but then again, being in iowa, I only have 56k dial up anyways!!!!!! lol
