Six Nations
Just been searching for the Six Nations games in BBC America and found they're not showing them this year. Which sucks.
They're being shown on some online streaming service from Premium Sports at $20 a pop. Anyone used them or had any experience?

That's a shame. I suspect most people here would suggest some sort of vpn service but I wouldn't know anything about that.

Re: Six Nations
Mr BEVS has been agitating about this, now we have a laptop and a basic understanding of BBCiplayer and Expatshild thing.
Am hoping he will be able to watch these games using this method.

Re: Six Nations
I'm pretty p****d off that the first year I'm over here for the 6 Nations and BBCA no longer has the rights. $120 for a season ticket, which I could probably handle if it wasn't a streaming only service!! I can't believe someone like Fox didn't pick this up considering how rugby is growing in the US! I can't watch these games on a laptop, so I'll be hooking the ipad up to the tv and watching on FilmOn. That has been a bit buffery lately, so if this doesn't work, I'll be staying off all social media till I've watched the games on the iPlayer.

The official site says it will be on some channel called BeIN sports but I don't know much about them. http://www.beinsports.tv

There will be plenty of 'wild streams' on the net I suspect on sites like myP2P (google it) and others. You'll have to click through dozens of spam popup ads to get it to start playing, but after that you should be ok.
I prefer to use DNS redirection like Overplay.net and Unotelly. This sends some bits via VPN and the other bits direct (i.e. the whole process is significantly faster than just sending everything through a VPN).
I've found that the RTE Ireland site also has good rugby content. During the World Cup they had every game up on demand so you could catch up on stuff. Not sure if they have the Six Nations though.

Re: Six Nations
BeIn showed the autumn internationals but on a delay. That info has changed since I checked a week or so ago. BeIn weren't listed. Let's hope they are showing the games live, or even on a couple of hours delay. The channel only costs me $5 a month extra, well worth it.
Just checked BeIn's schedule. There appears to be no rugby on this weekend

Re: Six Nations
It's on the grid for TV5 Monde (French) which some US cable companies carry I think. But it looks like it might be taped delay or highlights.

AdBlock on Chrome kills most of the pop ups and the guff from those p2p flash based websites. Unfortunately, the mobile version of chrome, on tablets doesn't, but the mobile version of Firefox does and works very well for a lot of the streams.
On the desktop, could always use sopcast or the other p2p streams, which do work pretty well, but personally I can't be bothered to install something just for it when the flash ones usually work pretty decently, especially as those other feeds don't work on the tablet.

Re: Six Nations
Just checked beIN - they're on channel 620 on DirecTV. But there's nothing live now and it all looks like it'll be delayed. I guess this PPV streaming site has the live rights. I'm also surprised BBC America didn't pick this up again.
Guess it's try to get a decent VPN connection and watch it on the ipad without the kids trying to nick it to play Angry Birds.
