Sir Elt's wedding live on CNN

Elton John and hispartnerDavidFurnish will be getting married at the Guildhall in Windsor at 11am GMT (which is 6am EST) and CNN will be covering it =>

US networks to cover Elton's wedding

US TV networks including CNN are planning to cover the wedding of Sir Elton John and David Furnish later today (Wednesday).

The private ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Guildhall in Windsor at 11am - 6am on America's east coast. Although cameras won't be allowed in the Guildhall, breakfast news shows in the US will cover the event from outside.

"We're going to be there live outside the ceremony, along with about two kagillion Elton John fans," said Soledad O'Brien of CNN's American Morning on Tuesday.

Calling tomorrow "a historic day for equality," Neil G. Giuliano, president of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, said that "CNN and all of the networks reporting on the Elton John-David Furnish wedding are to be commended for giving visibility to this important event."

No word on whether that other old Queen who also lives in Windsor will be in attendance. ;) (I think this ceremony will get a bigger audience than when Charlie married his trusty steed. )

Not a wedding

It is NOT a wedding....

civil partnership ceremony to save money on taxes....

Weddings are illegal and NOT recognized for same sex couples...

To me, that's good.

I missed it but I think the world is still turning. Trust Elton to get married where the Royals do. Seems appropriate for him, I think.

Why is this even news? Let the guy get on with it. They're not hurting anyone - big deal.

I'm with Thydney - was it really worth interupting a perfectly good news broadcast for footage of Elton John ?

I think the more gay people are shown in the media as being normal, the greater the chance of the biggots perhaps at some point in the future understanding that this is indeed what they are.

Okay, maybe Sir E isn't the best example of 'normal'... :D
