Default Sick pay in USA yes or no !!

Hiya people,

Would love your comments on sick pay in USA particuly with regard to Florida.

We've had some direct contact with a few members on here, who inform us there is no sick pay from your employee in the state of florida.

Would like some feedback on this as my father in law says it aint so !! He's a USC.

Is it dependent on your choice of employer etc.

cheers - mark and debbie

Florida, "Right to Work State". Basically no/few Unions. Everyone has the right to work, no closed shops.

Re, sick pay & vacations, it's on a job to job situation. Depends if you are a Nurse, Bank worker, Manager, Major Corp, Civil servant etc. If you work in a beach hut, you won't get sick pay or vacations. FL is having a bit of a tough time, re employment & recession, due to reduced tourism.

It depends on the job and the position - managers are likely to get four weeks, regular staff are not, though in the US there are lots of "managment grade" jobs that are really only supervisors. Also many companies give more leave after 5 and/or 10 years.
