Last Postage To Blighty
Sorry if this has been posted already, but I thought it was worth reminding.

Last Posting Dates from USA to Europe:
- For parcels via surface mail the cutoff date is TODAY [Nov 4th]
> Global Economy® (Surface)
- For parcels via airmail the cutoff date is DECEMBER 9th
> Global Airmail Parcel Post®
- For letters and cards via airmail the cutoff dates is DECEMBER 12th
> Global Airmail® Letters and Cards
There is also Global Priority Mail® and Global Express Mail® (Dec 14th/Dec 16th) but they cost you more.

Just wondered if your local Post Office now has extended hours?
Ours used to open from 8.30am and closed at 4.30pm which was ridiculously early.
A couple of weeks ago they've changed it from 10.0am until 7pm Mon-Friday which is much better (but the counter clerks aren't very happy).
I now prefer to mostly buy Christmas presents for UK relatives online as it saves on overseas postage and the hassle of having to parcel them up and queue up at the Post Office.
I particularly like http://www.amazon.co.uk as they sell all kinds of stuff and you can use your US credit cards and billing address even for UK deliveries, and they send you an e-mail when they have dispatched your order

as for postal hours, your right, can be a major pain, especially when at lunchtime there's always only just one counter open....go figure *l*

My card go out worldwide on the 24th Dec as always by sea mail ...

I posted 2 parcels regular USPS air mail on 13th December to UK. My friend called me on the 15th December to say hers had arrived safely and my niece's parcel arrived on 16th December.
