That's crazy...sounds like one person down at the moment?

Hope nothing as mad as the last time happens.

One cop is dead and another person also killed, so far.

Shooter is still on the lose, unknown on campus, with the uni locked down.

Press conference is going on at the mo...cops still on the search.

Seems like a lot of senior cops were in DC appealing the fines they had received for the way they handled the '07 shootings.

Again? That sucks. This sort of thing could never happen in my state thank god. In Missouri we have a freedom that people in Virginia don't, and that is the right to concealed carry on campus. Well at least the shooting is over now, good thing only two people died. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.

How much more carnage would there be though if people were carrying on campus?

Twitchy, nervous people with guns, shooting first and asking questions later, I think that would make things more scary and lead to more accidents.

Still, this is a tragic thing to happen, especially to a place that has gone through this before and I'll leave it at that.

Interesting that you are confident it "could never happen.." I guess you don't have very much experience of life. Consequences are sometimes unexpected.

Actually statistics show that 60 crimes are stopped by law abiding gun owners for every 1 crime that is committed by a criminal gun owner.

And if you look at the history of allowing concealed carry on campuses, it shows that it has only had a positive impact. The Appalachian School of Law shooting back in 2002 for instance, was stopped by two students who were concealed carrying handguns. Problem, socialists?

Of course it could happen anywhere, but it wouldn't have happened like this where I live. Everyone out here has like 20 guns and we have open carry. So we have virtually no crime anywhere within a 20 mile radius of my area.

Open carry just means the robber will just shoot you in the head before mugging you.

Letting a bunch of pissed up students, who at the best of times are a bunch of muppets with poor judgement to be allowed to be tooled up and carrying is a recipe for disaster.

Anyway, not really the place to discuss this topic, again. So I shall bow out of it now.

Interesting, can you explain exactly how it would not have been possible for someone to kill an armed police officer and then kill themselves in your area?

Just an fyi Arizona allows concealed carry. You can ask Gabrielle Giffords and the other people involved how well that worked for them.

I don't get you. The police who stoped the car were armed, weren't they?
