Default short term move from UK to USA?

me and my bro are looking to move, im 21, he is 19... we are not sure if we are going to move for permanent just yet, so is there any choice to go for about 6-8 months, and during these months be able to have a job and pay for a rented place?

we have no family in the USA at the moment... please if anyone has any information, about the best way for the option I have chosen above which will be the most cost effective and also allow us to work... then id appreciate that information... as for location in the USA, we are not 100% on that yet... does location effect alot?

Thanks

Ese

A stative verb in the continuous. A mere year in and you're Americanized!

Just a bit. America is huge. You have snow in Alaska and sun in Florida. Totally different people, laws, weather and places all over the country and different things to do. What is it that appeals to you about America? Also where you live effects whether you need a car, how much money you'll need to earn to survive, whether you can walk the streets at night without getting shot etc etc

Well, I guess, what appeals to me is how it would suit the field im looking to work in, the UK does not hold the opportunities which I am looking for... I work alot with music, hip hop, rnb etc... and media etc, from what I have found so far.. the UK is not the place for me to get the best from my work, and it would be alot better suited in the USA... I have the equivelant of 4 A Levels, which would be a national diploma, and i guess the truth is id be looking to be located someplace like NY or CALI, once again.. to suit my needs with the field im looking to work within... im not sure how this other info i have given, might help me out?

am i right to assume, in order to work in the USA, i will need a visa? or did i get the wrong idea, I am pretty clueless about the process... thanks

Ese
