LOL, no chocolate in this house!

Just making a few calls after our workouts and then we'll go for a drive around the area. Exciting and bloody scary at the same time! Moving is erm .. stressful!

Disappointing eh? I was going to suggest we all meet at The House of Pies in Houston but I guess Choccy Pie would be a no-no then

Congratulations on your Green cards, that must be a relief!

So can I ask how long it took from start to finish?
I know no two cases are the same, but it's interesting to hear other peoples stories.

ROFL .. this is far removed from the couple that left the UK, that's for sure!! We're far more health conscious now, and love the fact we can take advantage of the flatness here to go walking and cycling. Workouts are a sure-fire way of burning calories to lose weight .. and seeing as we have a big wedding to attend back in the UK in a few weeks, every single pound counts!

We're just back from house-hunting. Every estate looks remarkably like the next. We did venture out far enough to find some older homes with real trees (opposed to the tiddly ones recently planted). A few plots of land with nothing built yet too.

Oh, and one house we both really loved, but the sheer size of it means it'll be way out of our budget. Still, nice to dream and imagine what could be!

Erm .. not long at all. In fact, that's why we're in shock. We expected a year at least, if not 2.

We approached the company in October. Went through the paperwork process. Medical was in January. Application submitted in February. Green Card approved 7th April. We got notification in the post yesterday.

They must be bored at Immigration!

It's staggering. That's why we're shocked. Still, good times ahead hopefully

We were sort of banking on 12-18 months ourselves. Enough time to think about where to live, what to do, get finances in order, sell stuff back home .. all of that.

Carpe diem

Quick update:

Our actual Green Cards arrived today in the post! We're just staggered at the speed of all of this.

Oh, and we've found a house already. It's almost too good to be true!
