Shipping - via NY or NOLA?
Looking at quotes from Simpsons and Pickfords at the moment, waiting for some quotes from one or two others aswell. There seems to be little price difference between the two companies, Simpsons are slightly cheaper by about £100, this is for a shared container.
We are moving to Mississipi and Pickfords have said that the POE would be New Orleans, whereas Simpsons would be into New York. NOLA is a 5 hour drive from where we are living and NY obviously is days away.
I'm not fussed about a few days difference in terms of when we get our stuff, but do you think that having our stuff arrive in NY might be problematic in some way?
Any input greatly appreciated!

as far as i know they will just train it to the rail depot nearest the destination so it probably doesnt make a huge difference.

Just see who is contracted on the local end to do the last move, even Allied, Van Lines etc contract to local movers, so them saying they use Allied isn't all that much help...

aye, it's a group though, they tend to sub contract it locally, some Allied contractors are great, some are rubbish, just like with Van Lines and any other nationwide movers, think of it as the AAA, over all it's good, but you can get some right lemons operating under them too.
