Shipping UK to USA, is this a good rate?
I've been quoted £860 to ship 2m3 (personal belongings) from the UK to Seattle by sea, with a transit time of 35 days. I've had a look around and this seems to be about the standard rate. I've estimated my items will be around 2-2.5m3 so have budgeted £1000 or so to ship it all.
From other peoples experience is this good or a bad rate?

Does this include customs clearance and possible warehouse charges in the USA.
If the value is under $2500 you can clear it yourself over that it becomes a formal entry a broker must be used.

I am not sure if I'm honest Otto. It was just a cursory quote and not official so I will ask nearer when I am ready to ship. Value will be under $2500 so I will probably do the customs clearance myself if it isn't too difficult.
