Default Shipping possesions to the USA

Ok, after several outrageous quotes Ive decided to sell most of my possessions on e.bay / gumtree ect.( You can buy a lot of gear for £12,000 ) However I still have a couple of boxes of stuff I would like to keep and wondered if anyone can advise the most cost effective way of shipping over to the States.
One of the boxes is particulary heavy as it contains my tools.
Suggestions Please
Many thanks

We won't be able to quote you a price, not knowing the volume/weight of your stuff, nor where it is or where it's going. But you can contact some shippers with that information and they can give you quotes to compare.

Go to:

and then have a guess at how many boxes, weight etc, and that will give you a good estimate.

Good luck!

I used http://www.sevenseasworldwide.com

They weren't too expensive, and my boxes arrived safely a week after I did. The only negative point was their customer services are in China or The Phillipines somewhere, speaking to them was impossible! (Their paperwork was a nightmare to complete too!).

We also used Seven Seas. Our 5 tea chests cost £375 and should arrive early August (55-80 days). If we wanted it faster by air (7-10 days) it would've been about £500. Hopefully we'll have a good report when it's done.

From memory my ?nine boxes (200kg) cost about £400 with the company I linked to above, and took 24hrs door to door.

You were allowed to use wooden tea chests ?. When we ship using wooden crates or pallets they have to be heat treated and stamped to be allowed into the USA

A "tea chest" is just Severnseas description for a certain size of cardboard carton.

We shipped about 17 cartoons (mostly tea-chests, a few larger) with Excess International Movers for about £600-700 all up. Took about six weeks.
