Hi Margaret,

I am using these guys

http://www.the-eurogroup.com/

I rang up a bunch of people and these where reasonable, I asked all the movers which shipping company they used to ship the stuff and quite a few said these guys (they are actually shippers and not just movers).

They sent 3 guys to my house and they packed everything for me (I had to make them about 5 cups of coffee). I have been down to their offices and spoke to Louise Bird and she is really nice (she is the one who will arrange everything for you).

To be honest the quotes to move a whole house the USA where much of a muchness, I chose these guys because they do everything from start to finish and don't have middle men and there head office is 10 miles from where I live so I could go down there and see what they where about (make sure it wasn't some guy working out of his shed)

I used Simpsons of Kent for my removal. They sent a welcome pack which
explained the full process and came with forms to cover insurance. They
went to the house and boxed everything up and loaded it swiftly and with
care. Delivery to USA was swift was unloaded into the house.

They provided all the boxes and bubble wrap n tape.

Give them a call and they will give you a quote

When my husband moved to Indiana from Belfast we used McGimpsey Bros. of Northern Ireland. They brought it right from Philip's house into ours - via a US collaborate, of course. http://www.mcgimpseys.com/

The woman we dealt with was named Janet and she was very efficient and thorough!

They came to Philip's home and packed everything for him and they packed it well. We had nearly a truckload of packing materials after unpacking.

Glass framed pictures, DVD players, speakers, etc. all made it without incidient. Unfortunately, Philip's PC was damaged in shipping. He opted not to take it apart and pack the components individually. We were really unsure of how it would travel anyway.

However, he insured it for about £1500 and McGimpsey's insurance company was ON THE BALL! We had to send proof of damage, of course, but once they got that we had our money. It might have taken a couple of weeks at most.

The fee for two or three (I forgot) very large skids was about £1100. Glass framed pictures, DVD players, speakers, etc. all made it without incidient.

I would recommend McGimpsey's toanyone. Despite the fact that we had a damaged item (which was as much our fault) they performed with flying colours.

Best of luck!!

Ahh the famous "http://www.the-eurogroup.com" I sent 15 boxes via them from
the UK to USA (Chicago) and got 15 boxes delivered except the 15th box was
someone elses and my 15th box was sitting in San Francisco. How they managed
this I have no idea as the boxes were all labelled identically even with 1
of 15, 2 of 15, etc

It's an insurance job they said after they did a warehouse search on both
sides of the big pond, it's lost. Be confident we shall send the forms to
make a claim. No forms arrived!!! 3 weeks later I get a phonecall from the
chap that received my 15th box in San Fransciso. He had mine, I had his.

I inform Louise Bird, my box is in San Francisco. No problem she says, we
shall arrange it to be picked up and delivered to you. Took another *******
6 weeks to get my box from San Francisco to Chicago.

'eurogroup, com, they aren't good at keeping you informed nor do they return
calls when they promise.

They were very pleasant on the phone and had all the good excuses I must
admit. ;-)

Have fun!!! I might even receive one of your boxes on accident ;-)

David
