Shipping BACK to the UK.

Anyone just given up and returned home? Are there the same problems shipping your stuff back as there are coming the other way.
Any recommendations or otherwise for shipping companies.
Im not leaving my motorized Tempurepedic bed behind!

You might want to post this over in the Moving Back to the UK forum.

Hi G1ant,
I moved back - also from Texas.
Not sure I would categorize it as "gave up" exactly, it was just that "the adventure" had run it's course (15 years).
To answer your question, we found it pretty easy shipping our stuff back - rented a container, loaded it ourselves and similarly unloaded it ourselves in Milton Keynes!
It all went pretty much like clockwork and didn't cost as much a we had feared.
Even shipping our Golden Retriever back, whilst expensive and loaded with worry, was actually pretty smooth.

I can't say I don't miss the life in Texas but we had always intended to retire back here - the (mostly healthcare) risks in old age in the USA, especially for those of us who haven't had a lifetime to prepare for it, were just too much stress.

Andy.
