Shadow around the moon tonight

Can anyone else see the strange huge dark circle around the moon ?

Not where you are ...but last night we had a unusual moon too, dark and enormous - wonder if it's the same one ??:confused:

A few years ago, I remember seeing what you describe .... the dark circle was a very 'solid' black, and the sky around it seemed almost blue in comparison.
It was quite amazing...when I saw it I was working, and half the ward was standing at the windows looking at it.

Maybe it's got something to do with being nearer the equator...although Cas did say it was a few years ago.

Yes, about 3 or 4....it was stunning

But our moon last night seemed very close - didn't have the circle, but was very odd nonetheless.

Last year we were down my the Hudson River and looked out to NYC...there was a huge cream coloured moon at the side of the Empire State Building. It was absolutely stunning.

Just checked.....looks the usual. no dark circle around it.
Sky is a bit cloudy tonight though.

We were in the mid 60's the last few days and now the weather guy says we are under winterstorm warning for tomorrow and wednesday.....
