Default SF - LA

Hi guys,

I plan to drive down to LA later this evening. Initially thought of heading out at around 5pm being new to California - I was warned I would be stuck in traffic mainly on the 580. Any way - would a 630 pm start be ok for today given it's a long weekend?

Any help appreciated.

There's a disabled vehicle at Dublin on 580 causing some hold ups. Is it you?
Have you left yet?

I think heading to I5 is the common way to go but have never done it.
If you're tempted to go the 101 then I suggest getting on 280 ASAP rather than following the bayshore and rejoin lower down.

That's as much as I can offer!

Good luck.

Tuco: What does it say?
Blondie: "Idiot." Its for you

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. 1966.

Personally, I would have left by noon or wait to 9:00 p.m. or simply leave at 4:00 am on Saturday.

Out of interest, how long did it take then? I know what Google says, but that's not always a reliable indicator...

Ok, took 680, 580 and I-5/405.

Left 7.20 pm....the only bit of a bad patch was around Livermore (slow traffic for around 15 mins).....

Reached LA around 130 am i.e. roughly 6 hours. That's after one 15 min break and 2.5 (60 mph) hours of a slow boring friend driver. LOL...
