Some of my work colleagues now use a little sarcasm when talking to me. However I don't always realise this, assuming that being American they are not accustomed to being sarky, which has led to some odd misunderstandings.

This depends on the region. Here's in the midwest, the majority of people seem to consider sarcasm slightly rude. Where I grew up (Massachusetts), sarcasm is present in some form in essentially every statement made by anyone.

Hmm well they're from everywhere. Colorado, Illinois, Oregon, Ohio, Hawaii, Nebraska, even Joizy. In Arizona, nobody is actually from Arizona..

That's another thing, we hardly ever have a water shortage problem here, no hosepipe bans, but in England (an island!), where rain is a lot more common, water shortages are common!!!
