Default Sending tobacco to England

Are there any customs regulations on sending tobacco back to England. My Dad sent me $30 to buy him some pouches to give to friends at Christmas?

Of course if you are carrying anything for someone you should say so when questioned at the airport.

Carrying, 250g, and it has to be "for your own use", but if you're really thinking of sending it then the recipient will get hit with the duty (unless of course the package was mis labelled as "machine parts" or something.

My thinking is this applies to some kind of package someone gave you to carry through customs, but not to something you purchased to take to someone, or to be more specific something that you are not 100% aware of the contents as opposed to a package you have packed yourself/

That's what I said. He didn't say he was taking it himself...he said he was going to give it to a friend to take to the UK.

What kind of baccy is it? Not "whacky" I hope. Is there anything over here which is superior to Golden Virginia, Old Holburn, Drum, etc?

I got some Polish tobacco forget the actual name, I get a 1pound bag from the Indian reservation for $18, its like Golden Virginia.

From my local gas station I get .75oz Bugler Original from Turkey for $2 and is good, I used to smoke Golden Virginia in UK.
