Security rules for INS field offices?

Can anyone who has been in an INS office recently give me some insight about how tight security is right now? We have our AOS interview on Monday (yippee!) and we'll be bringing our 4 year old K2. He has ADHD and it's going to be tough to keep him occupied for the length of time we're likely to be waiting. I usually bring him a backpack of quiet toys/books and a snack when we're expecting to wait anywhere, but I'm not sure what the rules are at the INS these days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wish us luck for Monday, and I'll be sure to share our experience at the Charleston, SC office.

We were in Seattle INS in late August. We had our 18 month old and took the following:

Stroller, toys, snacks, sling, books!

They just examined the stroller by hand, put all the stuff through the X-ray thing and required all metal stuff on our bodies to be checked or handed in.

Bizarrely, I had a penknife in my purse and only found out after we left and were re-entering later in teh day. I showed it to them and they said I had to leave it outside.

Basically, all your kid stuff will be fine! Just leave time to pass security check.
