Default Security Clearance with N400 Pending?

I got laid off yesterday from my software job.

It's four months since I filed my N400 and I have had my prints taken etc.

My question: there are a lot of jobs in Colorado with defense contractors. The trouble is, they require US citizenship. It's a shot in the dark, but do you know of anyone who obtained a security clearance while their citizenship application was pending?

Cheers.

Job hunting in Denver...

Sorry about the layoff.

We had a long discussion about security clearances about a month ago. Please don't think that simply 'citizenship' will be enough to get a clearance--that's only of the part of the puzzle. Extensive foreign contacts / family overseas / dual-citizenship, etc, are all 'issues of concern' in getting a clearance.

Let me see if I can find that thread....
