Security Check Delays after interview
Hi.
interview was May 29th in LA... today is July 18th with no word yet - agent told me everything was approved at the interview but that everyone now needs to go through an additional security check (IBIS?).
Anyone know how long these are taking?

Is this a green card interview? If so, I was told at my interview that the security
check takes 30 days, after which you can go back to the INS office and get the stamp
in your passport. Mine was in Chicago but I assume it's similar in LA.
Green card itself will be mailed within a few months.

i hope you are right... I h8 the w8 - been in this whole thing for about 3 yrs now - I am just glad I am nearing the end. It's been over a month now - and no call. I am allowed to call for a status update 60 days after the GC interview... so unless I hear before then I will have to call on the 29th of July...
I hope yours comes in the 30 day window.

I just got the green card. My interview was at the beginning of April.
They didn't contact me to tell me I had cleared the security check, just that I
should return to the office after 30 days. I didn't go back to the immigration office
but my green card arrived just over three months after the interview.
I'm sure if there was a problem with your security check, you'd know about it
pretty quick!

The Process must be different in each city because I did my GC process in Minneapolis, and they did my FBI check before my interview and I got my passport stamped as soon as my interview was over.
