Default Sales Tax Going up?

Apparently it's going up 1.25% tomorrow in Mass to 6.25%...completely missed all this happening, oh well.

So anyone else having a hike in their sales tax?

Yes in California. Where I live it was 7.25% and increased 8.25%. Then down the road in LA County it was 8.25%....went up to 9.25% and has just gone up again and is now 9.75%.

So you're doing well at 6.25%

Aye, I know, I'm not to bothered by it, but it was much easier to calculate how much tax you'd have to stump in your head when it was a even 5%

We also have the .25% added on to pay for the new high speed rail from Cloverdale to .....Larkspur!
A really well thought out rail link that will take a stunning 100 or so cars off the road!

I'm not complaining about high...just the faff of the doodle maths, was easy chucking a dime at a $2 buy or whatever and not get much shrapnel....being getting a lot more now, which is a chore

3.9% for us, but then we do not have high property taxes.

Bob: At least you don't have to pay sales tax on food and clothes in MA. If you need anything bigger, get yourself up to NH if you can cart it back yourself. We're sales taxes on everything here. The amount depends on what it is. I've still not got my head around what % is on what.
