The title of 'Hardest Bastard' in world rugby has been won by Namibia's Schalk van der Merwe. Schalk and his brother in law (team-mate Rudi van Vuuren) run an animal centre in Namibia, Schalke had to enter the Lion's cage to rescue a favourite Baboon from certain death.
He grabbed the Lion's tail trying to drag it off the primate. When this fialed he punched the cat, hit it iwth a rock before finally deciding to grab the animal's ears and headbutt it !
They breed them tough in Namibia !
