Retirement USA
I keep watching Place in the Sun where people buy homes in the USA. But i thought that you could not visit for more than 90 days on a visitors visa, so are these just short term holiday homes, or does anyone know if you can live long term in the USA provided you still have a UK home and assets?
Thanks Arthur |
You cannot live long term in the USA without permanent resident status (green card). Go to the US visas and immigration forum for more on this.

That's right. It is only under the visa waiver that you are limited to 90 days.
However, be aware that if turned down for a visitor visa, you are no longer eligible for the visa waiver scheme. Of course for retirees who just want to use their holiday home and do not intend to work, there is little reason they would be turned down. |
