Rete, I finally have an interview date.

I don't know if you still remember me but I live in Queens and have asked you about my husband's adustment of status case from F-1 Visa.

Anyway, we finally got a letter from INS for an interview date.
Thanks Rete for your help.

For those people who are adjusting status from F-1 in NYC, be prepared to wait about 3 years (32months).

Timeline from F1 to adjustment of status:
May. 2000 INS received documents
Sep. 2000 Working visa approved
Nov. 2002 Finger print
Jan. 2003 Interview

Morning Laura

Cold morning in Queens today ;-( So glad you FINALLY got that interview date. You now hold the dubious record for the NYC area on the longest wait for AOS. At least it will be unconditional when it is approved and that is one plus to the longggggg wait.

Curious, when did your husband have his fingerprinting done? Crossing all those digits in January that it is smooth sailing. Start doing up that "binder" and collecting everything from the last three years that you will need to prove the validity of your marriage.

Good morning Rete. You are an early bird!

His fingerprinting date is in Nov. 2002 in the INS office in Queens.

Do I really hold the record for the longest wait time???
I believe a letter to congresswoman really helped though. Your suggestion to write to her really helped.

If everthing goes well at the interview, when would he expect his plastic green card in the mail?
