Re: Retain UK drivers license?
I have a DL and insurance for a car in the UK, use my mums address for all no critical UK mail, still have UK Amex/Visa cards and bank account.
The only problem I see if you get parking ticket or such and either ignore it and not pay, then a warrant will go out for your arrest.
In the US if I'm renting a car I use my UK DL and credit card, you never get speeding tickets just a warning. Not saying you should do this, but many people do.

Sorry for being so curious, but if you are traveling on the VWP, how long is your renewal valid for? So many people here have had issues in Texas with short-dated I-94s...

According to the DPS website, you need to be a US Citizen to be eligible to renew that way...?
I am not an American citizen.

That wouldn't be a very smart thing to do...wouldn't it be a Federal offence? As a US DL is an official form of photo ID...ie for boarding a plane...I would think anyone committing fraud to obtain one could find themselves in very deep do da.

Just curious...where is home? I may be wrong but from your past posts it looks like you don't have a US visa.
Used to have one, now use the VWP as the most I stay is 5 weeks at a time, due to doing some work in Indonesia. Texas is my home, have an apartment there, just no residency anymore, which works out well for my tax.
