So what kind of rent cheque do you get for your money in your parts, anything included or not?
Just curious, or to make myself feel better...I hope *l*
It's a hidden poll btw.
In Maine, $800 got you a 2-3 bedroom house, $900 furbished, with a lakeside view....would include snow plough/oil/water/rubbish.
So that sucks, down here, paying a lot more, and only includes basic rubbish collection (It's a pay as you go bags on top), water, sewage...electric and the big one, oil are on top....though snow plough is included....though where we last were, only after four inches of snow.
$1200-1500 gets sod all around here, tiny apartment with sewage/water/parking...so we're kinda lucky to have found what we've got, even though I' going to cry when the oil usage goes up, summer quaterly was $290, though that's mostly because the previous person did a runner and didn't fill the tank when we got here.

down here a really crap 2 bedroom apartment in a duplex is $450 including water and goes up to a shit load
$700 will get you a pretty reasonable apartment here

for maine, that was a city, Portland would be a little more pricey, but not much more pricey...

In Palm Beach a 2 bed apartment will knock you back not much change from $1800 per month. A 4 bed house is about $3000 per month.
In this neck of the woods probably $1300 or so for a 3/2 single family dwelling in half acre.

Rent on a 2/2, 2 floor apartment is $1200 down here, it was $1300 a few months ago for a similar apt.

1800 square feet 3 bed, 2 bath, double garage, 2/3 of an acre, quiet cul-de-sac.
Walking distance to 2 golf courses. 5 minutes to the University. Bargain - $895.

It had been for sale for over 12 months. I called the realtor and said we loved the house but were not looking to stay in the area. We offered 12 months in advance if they slashed the rent by $400 a month. I really didn't expect they would go for it, I was just pleasing the wife who insisted I call to see if we could rent it.).
I couldn't have got this type of return on my cash in the bank! We put aside the $1,295 each month, we now have the initial 12 months we paid out, plus a bit more - a great way to save for a deposit on our next house - we are going to buy next time.
If you don't mind a student town its great. Once the misses graduates in May 2007 we are moving, I'm more than sure you won't find something this great for the money in Dallas

We live in a stooodent town, so even though the rental market is saturated, its still not that cheap. We pay $600 a month for a one bedroom with the worlds smallest kitchen and a windowless bathroom.
Compared to what I got for my money in London though, its a palace.

Last year we was paying 1,100 a month for a two bed tiny apartment in Virginia Beach, still about 20 minuet drive from the Beach it's self I might add, so we decided to move here for Base housing, which is 1,200 a month, but we do not pay out for water or Electric, so I can have it as hot or as cold as I like in the house and I even put the dish washer on half full

here we're in a 3 bed 2 bath apartment with no bills included and we're paying $2k/month.
Only reason we stay here is that I can walk to work in 5mins.
for a house... around here a 1000sqrft place will run you around $2.5k/month... want a garden... add a few hundred more.
