Renewing a UK passport in the USA ?
Hi,
I need to renew my UK passport but would rather not have to go back to blighty to do so. Can someone point me to the appropriate URL to check up on this and give me a heads up as to how long this might take. I did look this up back in November but sadly have forgotten what I found..... I do have a Visa valid for another year so this is not an immigration question :) Cheers Jim (in philly) |

You don't need anyone to sign the application as it's not a first-time passport application, you just send your current passport and two photos....plus of course the (hefty) passport fee. It's a very quick turnaround - you should get it back in approx 7-10 days. |

Many thanks ! I read all the stuff and printed the forms, pretty easy , though the notes, the FAQs and the form are slightly contradictory, countersign/do not countersign, Birth certificate/no birth certificate 1 photo/2 photos. Think I have it sussed though. Thanks again |
