Default Renewing d/licences again!

Why oh why do we have to keep renewing our driving licences yearly, its so expensive and yet our visa is for 3years, surely they should do it for the 3yr visa period......money making scam

We had L1/2 visas and our DLs expired the same date as our visas expired. Probably differs from state to state.

We're on H1B/H4 visas and our driving licences are valid until the day our visas expire. When we renew them I think it will cost about $20 so not too bad. I just hate the picture on mine. Also why must they say what your weight is?? Hair color and eye color are one thing but weight. OH has just told me he is over 20lbs lighter that the weight it says on his licence that he got in November last year! My weight is still the bloody same.

What is the date on your I-94s?
What is the requirement for showing legal presence in your state DMV?

Just rung Tallahasee re driving licence and apparantly here in Florida if your on a 3 year visa you have to renew every year. The guy said we are alittle stricter here than other states....I said 'No I would say GREEDIER' than other states.
So yet another $77 each for licences !!

I can see why you might have to go every year but that price is ridiculous. In Texas I paid $24 for my first licence and then $11 to update my status on it.

Quit whining. There's no state income tax. Would you like to pay 8-10% on everything you buy like we do here in Colorado?
