My British passport has finally expired and we're planning a trip to go see family next August. I know I have plenty of time to get this done but I don't like to wait last minute.

I have everything I need except the photos, I cant find anywhere that can do the passport photos sizes needed, walgreens etc do a 51mm x 51mm and I need a 45mm x 35mm according to the website. Any suggestions on where I can go to get them?

Background if needed: Moved to US from UK May 2009 on K-1 Visa, became a Perm Resident Oct 2009. Haven't been home to visit since 2011.

Walgreens can absolutely do a UK passport photo - their machines have a setting for that size, but sometimes the staff on duty don't know it. They have to go in and look. Or you may need one of the newer Walgreeens. Also, if you have a CVS where you are they can do it too.

I'm with Lion, both Walgeens and CVS can do UK photos, it maybe something to do with the person behind the machine!!

Fairly sure that when I renewed my UK passport two years ago, I just sent in standard US passport photos and heard not a peep from the Passport Office.

I thought you can use a computer for the photo now. Camera phone or webcam.

Any photo studio/shop that takes US passport photos will be able to take your UK passport photos. Just to in with the measurements and requirements. All it is is printed digital photo cut to the appropriate size.

I'm needing to renew my expired UK passport and do not have smart/photo/printer/phone etc...so would it hinder process if I used a friends phone to send my photos?... I have no idea, or should i just go with CVS etc?

I don't have a smart phone and I can take pictures with the one I have. Do you have a tablet? Or just go to Walgreens or CVS and have it done. Why make things complicated when they don't have to be. They can always email you the finished photo to your email account along with giving you a printed copy.

This is what I always used, especially with a mix of nationalities in the family it was easy to select the right country, and then print 1 standard 6x4 photo at Target or wherever. Cost is just that single 6x4 print which is pennies.

However, you don't even need to do that now as UK allows you to use a Digital Photo see https://www.gov.uk/photos-for-passpo...digital-photos
