Re: Removal/Movers/Shipping companies (UK to Colorado)
Hi,
We have just received our container shipment from the UK to Colorado, just over a week ago. The UK end were Sterling Relocation and they were very, very good. The US end were Atlas, out of Denver, and whilst they delivered everything, they basically refused to unpack it all. The UK guys were in our house for 6 days packing everything. The US guys only came to the house for one day, so they offloaded the boxes (into the rooms we requested), and unpacked some stuff but not a lot. They did put furniture together, but some of it was put together so badly we had to spend the next day taking it apart and putting it together properly.
I have to say though that so far, the damages I've found have been limited to a couple of chipped cups, a broken glass and a broken ornament, which were damaged as the Denver company unpacked them. I am still working my way through the boxes though (only about 70 to go!).
I would have no hesitation in using Sterling again as the guys were brilliant, especially given that they had to pack and ship our house during the really deep snow last winter in the UK. The US end is more problematic though, unfortunately we had no control over who was used.

Ask them who they use on the US end and what storage they'll offer if you get held up by customs.
