Rememberance sunday november 9th
I know we have a few ex armed forces on the board. And I am sure that most of us have had family that served during the two world wars. With Rememberance sunday coming up this weekend, I thought you might all like to visit http://www.poppy.org.uk/ to make a small donation.

Awww I remember when we were kids at school and they would send a child around to all the classrooms so we could buy a poppy!

I was in the army cadets, and always felt really proud to wear our best dress unifroms to the remembrance parade.

Hi Effi
I nearly got to go in 1976 (PMRAFNS) but ended up going to RAF Brampton to do my geriatric training instead. I really wanted to go too. I did go to the Farnborough Air Show to escort VIP's on their coach. I still have no idea who they were or where they were from!

I actually took part in the parade back in 1970 when I was in the WRAF. We were bussed from RAF Halton to London. It sticks out in my memory as the girl next to me fainted and was dragged away.

Thanks for the link. It only gives a choice of "UK" for country, but I suppose a credit card donation will work just as well from the US.

As a member of the WRAF in the late 70's, I never got the opportunity to parade in London, but as a current member of the Fire Service I have visisted YPRES and have taken part in their parade. To see the thousands of names on the Menin Gate who gave their lives was so moving, it is something I will never forget.
