Honestly kirstyp I think if he's competing for a job with other US based candidates, he needs to be careful about asking for too much. The package you are suggesting from the UK to the USA would be offered to a current relocating employee or a very senior new hire.
Personally, if this was me and if a relocation package hadn't been offered to me yet but i thought there might be one i'd probably be having a very tentative discussion with the employer about if any relocation assistance is offered, without implying it is expected or making any demands at this stage and go from there. |

Good advice. There's also the matter of applying for a US job from outside the country. Previous advice on the forum has been to provide a US address and cellphone number on the resume, never put the words visa or sponsorship but to write "legally allowed to work in the USA" to avoid the resume being rejected by the software. |
