registering to vote in the UK

Any info on what happens to the kiddoes who left the UK before they were old enough to register to vote?
My kids now over 18, never registered before.
On the website it says this

you were registered to vote in the UK within the previous 15 years (or, in some cases, if you were too young to have registered when you left the UK)
However, when I enter their details on the website it simply says they have been out of the country for more than 15 years.

Re: registering to vote in the UK

If they have been out for more than 15 years they are not entitled to vote. 15 years is the cut off, once you reach that you cannot vote. Law might change, but hasn't as yet.

The Overseas Electors Bill didn’t make it through this Parliament. It may well be put back in the next Conservative manifesto.
