Default Registering a marriage in California

Hello everyone-

My husband and I got married in London last year and he has just received his immigrant visa to move to the States! Does anyone know if our UK Marriage Certificate is acknowledged as a legal document in the USA or will we need to take it to a records office to receive an American version? We will be living in CA.

Thank you in advance for any advice! It's great to have a forum like this!

If the USCIS accept an alien marriage certificate as acceptable then so should everyone else....Yes its a legal document..
