Registering Birth at British Embassy in DC
Help!
Does anyone know how long the application processing times are for registering a birth at the British embassy in Washington. I sent in the competed form complete with documentation a few weeks ago but so far I have not heard anything, not even to say they have received it. Is this normal? How long can I expect it to take before I receive the birth certificate?

I think it took about a month when i did it last year. You don't hear from them until it arrives. Have they charged your card?

Not yet. I checked this morning. I did try calling for a status update but I just got put through to an answering service.
How long after you sent your application in did they charge your card?

I've just looked because I was curious, they didn't charge the card until just before it was done. So don't worry that yours hasn't been charged yet.
