Recruitment Agencies in Los Angeles
Hi there,
just wondered if anyone can recommend me names of major recruitment companies or websites that job seekers use in Los Angeles County (or Nearby counties). For example a US equivalent of Reed UK.
I am looking for office based jobs preferably in Finance.
I am a foreign born US citizen, so I do not need sponsorship luckily.
Many thanks in advance.

Networking is key. Is your LinkedIn profile up to date and fully visible?

Indeed take all the jobs listed on websites that their crawlers can get to, so that would be an excellent place to start.
Leverage LinkedIn. This has worked for me far better than anything else. It now has a membership specifically to help with getting a job.
Research how to format a US resume rather than a UK style cv. Use this sentence to allay any doubt about your right to work in the USA. "Legally allowed to work in the USA". This doesn't contain any words likely to get your resume rejected by software for a job where no visa sponsorship is forthcoming (ie most of them).
good luck!

Potentially include a US number (such as Skype or localphone) and you'll get recruiters calling as soon as your resume hits the boards.

Thanks! I have a personal profile at the top of my CV which states that I am a foreign US Citizen. I may also put that wording in.

I would step away from recruitment agencies, from my experience they are worthless! They certainly send me totally unsuitable candidates!
I would set up your LinkedIn, its used a lot more here for business networking, I would also recommend Indeed and Ziprecruiter, sign up for them both and upload your Americanized resume. We use both sites to look for candidates.

In my case it worked out well, but from experience in the UK, I agree, they can really suck.

Sign up to the site and you pretty much search for anything, use keywords eg Brain Surgeon, your zip code and it will give you a fair selection of jobs in your area.
