Recommendations for Travel Insurance?
We used to have an annual travel insurance policy in the UK which covered skiing. As we are planning our ski trip this year, we need to get travel insurance sorted. Any recommendations which company to use?

I'd always use a comparison website and take the cheapest reputable looking company.

Our son recently used Lonely Planet World Nomads insurance. The slightly more expensive policy included skiing.

Re: Recommendations for Travel Insurance?
Food for thought if you are in the US: Do you currently have medical insurance, and is there a reason that your medical insurance wouldn’t cover a skiing injury? If you’re on an HMO or emergency only plan, perhaps there is a valid reason to get additional cover. My PPO plan would cover me regardless of cause, although they may well try and sue someone to get some of the cost back.

My PPO health plan would cover any medical costs that arise from an emergency, and all treatment would count as in-network, wherever I am in the world, but it won't cover any repatriation costs, nor any lost earnings if I was to use up all of my sick leave and/or vacation and have to take unpaid leave. |
